Keeper: documents and renewals

Keeper remembers the dates you can’t afford to miss: a passport or licence expiring, the bluebook tax, an insurance premium, the rent. Everything stays on your computer.

Add something

Click Add document or Add reminder and pick what it is.

Documents you hold: Citizenship certificate, National ID, PAN, Passport, Driving licence, Bluebook, Insurance policy, Warranty, or Other document with your own fields.

Things to do or pay: Electricity, water, internet and telephone bills, rent, a loan EMI, school fees, a medicine refill, a subscription, or Something else.

Every form has a For choice: Me, someone you’ve already added, or + Someone new to add a family member. You can then filter Keeper by person along the top.

Documents

Each kind of document asks for what matters for it:

• Kept on file (citizenship, National ID, PAN): the number, issue date and office. These never expire, so they never remind you.
• Expires (passport, driving licence, warranty, travel insurance): the expiry date.
• Repeats (bluebook tax every year, vehicle and health insurance, life insurance premiums): the next due date.

Dates are picked on a Nepali calendar, and shown in both calendars.

Remind me before chooses when you’re told: from a year before down to the day itself. A passport, for example, reminds you a year, six months and a month before it expires.

Reminders for bills and tasks

Give it a name, an optional Due date, and a Repeat: one-time, every Nepali or English month, or every Nepali or English year. Choose Remind me before, then Save reminder. A reminder without a date is a note, with no notifications.

Photos

Add photos of the document itself, up to 10 each: click Add photos, drag them in, or paste. Photos stay on your computer, inside Sajilo’s data, so they’re included in your backups. Click a photo to open it larger, where you can zoom, rotate, save a copy or delete it.

When something is due

Coming up at the top shows what’s due soon: documents from two months ahead, reminders from two weeks.

• Paid a bill? Click the tick. A repeating reminder moves on to its next date (Mark paid — moves to the next date); a one-time one is marked done.
• Renewed a document? Open it and use Mark tax paid, Mark renewed or Mark premium paid, or Renewed… to enter the new expiry date.

Keeper also warns you about a bluebook with no linked vehicle insurance, or insurance that ends before the tax is due.

Reminders

Keeper reminds you at 9 am on each day you chose, and once more the day after something becomes overdue, as a card or a notification. See Reminders.

Keeper can be switched off in Settings › Modules › Keeper, which also stops its reminders.
