Bazar: prices, NEPSE, IPOs and funds

The Bazar tab has several sections along the top: Stocks, Forex, Gold & Silver, Fuel and Vegetables. Stocks opens first. Forex has its own page.

Gold & Silver

• Fine gold per tola in large type, with the change since the previous price, the price per gram and a small price history.
• Fine gold, Tejabi gold and Silver, per tola and per 10 g.
• A calculator at the bottom: enter a quantity in tola, 10 g, grams or ounces, choose the metal, and see what it’s worth.

Prices come from the Federation of Nepal Gold and Silver Dealers’ Association. If its site is down, Sajilo uses Nepali Patro or Hamro Patro instead, and the credit at the bottom says which.

Fuel

Petrol, Diesel and Kerosene per litre and an LPG cylinder, with the change from the previous price and the date the prices took effect, from Nepal Oil Corporation.

Vegetables

Today’s Kalimati wholesale prices: the average, and the lowest and highest, per kg, per dozen or each.

• Search in Nepali or English.
• Hover over an item and click the pin to keep it at the top under Pinned.

These are wholesale rates at Kalimati; shop prices are usually higher.

Stocks: NEPSE

• The index card: the NEPSE index and its change, market turnover, whether the market is Open or Closed, a chart of today, and how many shares rose, stayed unchanged and fell. While the market is open, it updates every minute.
• Search for any listed company by name or symbol, and click it for its page: price, day and 52-week ranges, and trading figures, with a link to ShareSansar.
• Movers: the top Gainers, Losers, and the most traded by Turnover and Volume.
• Sectors: how each sector index moved.

Follow companies

Click the star on a company to follow it. Followed companies appear in your Watchlist on the Stocks section. You can follow up to 12 companies.

Track your shares

On a company’s page, under Your position:

1. Click Add purchase and enter the Quantity, Price per share (click the market price to use it), the Transaction date and where you got the shares (secondary market, IPO, bonus…).
2. Sajilo estimates broker commission, SEBON fee and DP charge; open Charges and note to enter the actual charges from your contract note instead.
3. Click Save transaction.

When you sell, click Record sale; Sajilo estimates the capital gains tax and your realised profit or loss. Your watchlist becomes Holdings, with what you invested, today’s market value, and profit or loss. Click a transaction to edit it, or the trash icon to delete it.

Charges and tax are estimates. Your broker’s contract note and MeroShare are final. Your transactions are stored only on this computer.

IPOs

The IPOs card shows issues that are open or opening soon: when each closes, how many times it’s subscribed, and a bar for the application window. All › lists open, upcoming and recently closed issues.

Open an issue to see the details, then:

• Apply on MeroShare opens MeroShare in your browser.
• I’ve applied marks it, so Sajilo doesn’t remind you on its closing day. Click Undo if you marked it by mistake.

Upcoming dividends

Book closures that are coming up, with the bonus and cash dividend, and companies you follow first. Click one to open the company.

Mutual funds and SIP

Switch Stocks to Mutual Funds at the top. Funds are grouped as Open-ended (SIP), Closed-ended and Matured, with each fund’s latest NAV. A NAV that hasn’t been updated for a while says how many days old it is.

• Star a fund to keep it under Your funds.
• Enter Your units on a fund’s page to see what they’re worth, and how that changed this week. Units stay on this computer.

SIP reminders

For an open-ended fund you pay into monthly:

1. Open the fund and turn on SIP payment reminder.
2. Choose the day it Pays on, an optional Amount, and when to Remind me: 7, 3 or 1 day before, and on the day.

When a payment is due, Your funds shows it with Paid and Remind tomorrow. SIPs also appear in Keeper.

Freshness

Prices refresh in the background every hour, and the market more often while it’s open. Click refresh at the top for the latest. Without internet, Sajilo shows the last figures it has, marked Showing older data.

Bazar can be switched off in Settings › Modules › Bazar. This hides the whole tab, the NEPSE card on Today, and IPO and SIP reminders.
