Settings guide
Click Sajilo in the menu bar, then the gear at the top right. Settings has four tabs. This page goes through each one.
Display
Appearance
- Theme
- System follows your computer's light or dark mode. Light and Dark fix it either way.
- Text size
- Small, Default or Large. It changes the text, not the size of the window.
- Language
- नेपाली or English, for the whole app.
- Numerals
- Devanagari (२०८३) or Latin (2083) digits for dates and numbers.
Menu bar
- Format
- What the menu bar shows: the short Nepali date, the full date with the year, the date with a Nepal flag, the Gregorian date, or a numeric date. Pick Custom… to choose the pieces yourself.
- Show time
- Adds the current time next to the date.
- Show Nepal flag, Show BS year
- Appear only with the Custom format.
Startup
- Launch at login
- Starts Sajilo when you sign in. On macOS, if it says it is waiting for approval, allow it in System Settings › General › Login Items.
- Show Dock icon
- On macOS, shows Sajilo in the Dock as well as the menu bar.
Modules
Everything beyond the calendar is a module you can switch off. Switch them all off and Sajilo shows the calendar only, which always stays.
- Weather
- Weather and air quality on the dashboard. Home place sets which place it shows. To follow more places, pin them from the Weather screen.
- Forex
- Nepal Rastra Bank exchange rates. Currencies on the card picks which ones appear; the first one you pick is the one the dashboard shows.
- News
- Headlines from Nepali and English newsrooms, and official government notices.
- Bazar
- Gold, silver, fuel and Kalimati produce prices, alongside NEPSE and mutual funds.
- Rashifal
- The daily rashifal for all twelve signs.
- Radio
- Nepali FM stations.
- Second Clock
- A second clock next to Nepal time. Add cities from Tools.
- Keeper
- Family documents, renewals, bills and reminders in their own tab.
System
Updates
Check for updates looks for a new version. When one is ready, install it and restart. The update window that appears on its own also has a switch to download and install future updates automatically. What changed in each version is on the release notes page.
Reminders
- Public holiday tomorrow, Festival tomorrow
- Arrive at 7pm Nepal time, the evening before.
- IPO closing day
- Arrives at 10am on the closing day, unless you have marked that issue as applied.
- SIP payment due
- For the mutual fund SIPs you have set up under Bazar.
Reminders are scheduled on your computer. If they never arrive, check that notifications are allowed for Sajilo in your system settings (on macOS, System Settings › Notifications).
Privacy
Help improve Sajilo sends one anonymous count a day. Switch it off and nothing is sent. The privacy policy lists exactly what the count contains.
Backup
Export Sajilo data… saves everything Sajilo keeps on your computer to one file: day plans, Keeper documents and their photos, watchlists and settings. Import Sajilo data… restores it, on this computer or a new one. Prices and news are not in the backup; they are fetched again.
